Shrine Hazrat Shah Hasan, Russian beach, Kadiro Creek near Bin Qasim, Karachi.
Visit to Shrine Hazrat Hasan Shah Bin Qasim, Karachi:
Its a famous saying here among the Karachiiets that cyclones don't hit city of Karachi due to the resting places of different saints at its different shores lines. Well, regardless of the fact that whether its true or not, we can at least feel the peace of mind when visiting there. The most famous is Shrine Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi near Clifton beach. Similar to that, is the shrine of Hazrat Hasan Shah which is located in Kadiro Creek, Indus basin, Bin Qasim Town adjacent to the Russian beach.
About Shrine Hazrat Hasan Shah:
Dargah (shrine) is adjacent to the site of Russian beach. It is located in Bin Qasim town, approximately 1.5 hours drive from Landhi Quaidabad at National highway N5. A quiet and serene place at the bank of mangrove forests. A pearl in the ocean .The view from the windows of the shrine is spectacular. The soothing affect of the sea, silvery water, sun and breeze tranquilizes our soul. It eventually become a escape of meditation for you.
There is not much written about the background of Hazrat and the Shrine, when he used to live here, when did he came and from which place? The information board at the begining of shrine is not clear. However, from the details placed inside the mazar Hazrat Hasan Shah belongs to the Ahle bait family (Panjtan Pak, The children of Hazrat Muhammad PBUH) and death date of Hazrat Syed Hassan Shah in islamic calendar (2 rabi-ul-awwal year 665 hijri)
The stairs of shrine are great place to sit and relax. You can sit there for hours enjoy the sea breeze and quiet water. While, at the beach, silvery water tingles on your feet. You find sea weeds and shells when you explore the quiet beach.
In shrine's courtyard, outside the main room you will find several other graves. Nobody is there to answer your question who are they? Why they are here?
We can also see metal locks (taaley) and threads on the grill of shrine at the resting place of Hazrat Hasan Shah, must have been placed by visitors for their wishes.
The peace there don't let you think about the answers and you just enjoys the beauty and location. Infact you wish to have a home in a place like that and consider those lucky who are resting in this place.

Fisherman catch fishes and you can sail on their boats as well. Once you are in a boat you enjoy the surrounding water .As you go nearer to the mangroves forest water become deeper and water splash on your face. After this long trip of the sea by boat when you go back to the beach you feel fresh.
You can also enjoy a beach still unpolluted .When cold water touches your feet you feel delightful. You can spend hours sitting on a beach. Beware of the tides.
About Russian Beach:
Though it is not a beach similar to French beach or Turtle, Hawksbay, Paradise point or Nathiagali beach with high tides but we can enjoy totally different nature of small shoreline spread over about 5 KMs walkable during low tides.
You will need to pass through swampy mangrove habitat with bumpy ride (kachha rasta). These sufi saints had an eye for peaceful and serene places.
The place currently famous as Russian Beach. It was set for development when Pakistan Steel Mill was built with the help of Russians in Z. A. Bhutto era. This piece of land probably was chosen for development as a recreational spot for Russian Engineers and technicians who moved to Pakistan as part of technical exchange. It did not happen but the place is still an attraction for families. The place is very attractive for fishing enthusiasts as mangroves attract many species of fishes here.

We can also take a boat ride on cheap price and enjoy peaceful silver but clean waters in nearby creek in the Indus Basins. A way lot better ride then one offered at Kemari or Port grand in Karachi.
For the sake of peace and price, I can rate it with the ride i found at River Indus at Almanzar, Jamshoro.
