12 Feet Grave (بارہ فٹ کی قبر) More Than 100 Years Old in Karachi

12 Feet Grave

At the historical Jamia Milia graveyard located in malir Karachi, there is a 12 feet grave,  (بارہ فٹ کی قبر) which is believed to be more than 100 years old, nobody knows the exact period.

The grave is present in Jamia Milia graveyard at the Malir nadi (river) side. Elders of the place said it to be more than one century old. The name of person who is buried is also not known. However, the burial stone laid at one side, is of old fashioned yellow rock stone type which was used to build historic Chokhandi graves.

Significance of Jamia Milia graveyard:

I live nearby and has witnessed it changing from an old wide graveyard into cozy and jam packed one. Our elders said that this graveyard is centuries old. In my childhood i also saw few graves with stone markings and some alike the famous Chokhandi style. It was believed to be of the soldiers who came along with Muhammad Bin Qasim team who died and buried here.
Graveyard is adjacent to the legendary Jamia Milia Education complex founded by late Dr. Mehmood Husain. Yes it has a relation with Jamia Milia Dehli. Dr sahib was the brother of Mr. Zakir Husain who founded Jamia Milia in Dehli but Dr Mehmood Husain preferred to migrate Pakistan and built one mega complex in Malir, Karachi.
