Villages of Karachi- Haji Shah Ali Village

Villages of Karachi- Haji Shah Ali Village

Karachi is generally considered to be a Metropolitan city and among the top of urban lifestyles in Pakistan. It is a general perception that there is no village life left inside or nearby Karachi and all the old villages have been cultivated into the urbanization spring, whether converted into housing colonies or into industrial complexes. Well somehow, the perception is correct, yet we can still find the glimpses of village life right in the middle of city. The only point is to explore them and it can only be done by someone who has genes of travel in their blood😊

In normal word you can say, a true musaafir can only wander and explore such things. Few people might have been aware of the fact but the general population is not much informed about it. The reason is that vey less has been written on it in the perspective of travel. Major information published is with the need of Livestock, Dairy and Vegetable sector either by government agencies or few private individual efforts.

Musaafir online will try to bring some insights with you about it with its series of blogs wherein each blog we will try to cover one specific area or village its whereabouts.
One of the examples is Haji Shah Ali Village. It is a small village located at the left bank of Malir River (commonly known as Malir Nadi).

Administratively it comes under Landhi Town and the nearby landmarks are
1-Indus circle (Korangi industrial Area). If you are coming from there, it will come on the right side of road.
2-Shah Faisal Colony. If you are coming from there through Malir River Bridge it will come on the left side of road and you will have to take first left turn after the bridge finishes.

Although some portion has been cultivated into the housing scheme and plotting has been done there, but still the river side is rich in greenery. The major crop that could be seen will be the green long grass for cattle feed and rest of the land is used to get the seasonal vegetables. The left river road is not properly built is still is in shape of a village route which actually let that landscape give you the feel of being in the middle of a beautiful village far from the noise of Karachi City. The serenity there and the sound of breeze coming through the trees gives excellent feeling. On the both sides of that track you will find green land surrounded by different trees including date trees.

I could not visit the place early in the morning but I bet it will be no less than any remote area village of rural areas of Sindh.
